As more and more companies enact policies that prohibit the carry of firearms, or ban the sale of ammunition, one company is standing in support of American’s right to bear arms.
Walmart and Kroeger, among others, have banned the open carry of firearms in their stores and Walmart stopped selling ammunition.
But Rural King, a retail store based in based in Mattoon, Illinois, with more than 100 stores is endorsing its customer carrying of firearms, WTHI reported.
“Many rural Americans are defenders and supporters of our rights and the 2nd Amendment. We at Rural King are proud to stand with these Americans to protect and defend our freedoms.
“While some retailers are bowing to pressures involving the selling of firearms, Rural King will continue to sell firearms lawfully in all our stores and online at RKGuns.com.
“Hunting, camping, fishing, and other outdoor activities are some of our most treasured traditions and are woven into the fabric of rural America.
“At Rural King we are dedicated to living, loving, and embracing the rural lifestyle and carrying the products our customers expect.
“We would like to thank you for shopping at Rural King and God Bless America!” the company said in a press release.
Some of the store’s customers, who were interviewed by the news network, applauded the decision to support their rights.
“I was grabbed from the window of my truck at a Speedway, and I went out immediately and got my own personal protection.
“I think we need that, and I think we need a place to be able to buy ammo,” Shelly Hoffman said to WTHI.
“If Walmart is going to take away your right to carry in their store, because of people who break the law with their guns, are they going to take away the auto parts for people who drunk drive?” customer Doug Beder said to the network.
But as this company stands with the rights of Americans another company, Albertsons, has banned firearms, Reuters reported.

Supermarket operator Albertsons Companies said on Saturday it would ask customers not to openly carry firearms at its stores, joining an array of retailers and store chains this week who changed their gun policy in light of several mass shootings in the United States.
“We want our stores to feel safe & welcoming for all, so we respectfully ask customers to not openly carry firearms in our stores unless they are authorized law enforcement officers,” the company said in a tweet.
The announcement comes as other retailers such as Walmart Inc and Kroger Co tweaked their gun policy, with Walmart saying it would discontinue sales of ammunition for handguns and some assault-style rifles in stores across the United States.
Albertson Companies operates stores across 34 U.S. states, according to the company website.
