New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is at the front of the line in defending former California Rep. Katie Hill against “revenge porn.”
It is astounding that the same Democrats who have attacked men who have sexual relationships with subordinates are defending her.
These are the same people who acted like their hair was on fire because Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh liked beer in high school.
But nevertheless, there was Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Ilhan Omar, among others, who had no issue with the porn princess of Congress.
“This doesn’t happen to male members in the same way — revenge porn in this respect. It’s horrific,” she said to Politico.
“I don’t think we’re really talking about how targeted and serious this is. We’re talking about a major crime … being committed against her,” she said.
“Best of luck on your new journey @KatieHill4CA, we got you. To all the women/girls out there, do not be deterred from pursuing your dreams,” Rep. Omar said.
“We must and will create a society where you cannot be defamed, smeared and kept from your career aspirations because of smear campaigns!” she said.

But the biggest surprise came from conservative Republican Rep. Matt Gaeta siding with the two liberal representatives and Hill.
“Frankly, I think it’s a generational issue,” he said to Politico. . “A lot of these baby boomers I serve with don’t understand that millennials, by virtue of having smartphones, have shared stupid moments and regrettable moments for a substantial portion of their lives.”
“We cannot adopt an ethic that some bad thing or embarrassing thing that you’ve done, released through the inflamed passions of an ex, somehow impairs your public service or fitness as a candidate,” he said.
But House Speaker and California Rep. Nancy Pelosi was less sympathetic to the 32-year-old Hill, though she did somewhat defend her.
“Our darling Katie. It’s so sad,” she said in a closed-door meeting with Democrat leaders on Monday night prior to the impeachment vote.
“It goes to show you, we should say to young candidates, and to kids in kindergarten really, be careful when transmitting photos,” she said.
