Joni Ernst Says GOP May Impeach Joe Biden “Immediately” If He Wins 2020 Race Over Ukraine

Iowa Senator Joni Ernst just issued a warning to the Democrats about Joe Biden. Speaking to Bloomberg, Ernst said because of the Trump impeachment the GOP may immediately move to impeach Biden should he win.
This is an escalation for the GOP in the impeachment fight and something they should have thought about long before they went down this road.
From Bloomberg: Iowa Senator Joni Ernst warned Sunday that Republicans would immediately push to impeach Joe Biden over his work in Ukraine as vice president if he win the White House.
“I think this door of impeachable whatever has been opened,” Ernst said in an interview with Bloomberg News. “Joe Biden should be very careful what he’s asking for because, you know, we can have a situation where if it should ever be President Biden, that immediately, people, right the day after he would be elected would be saying, ‘Well, we’re going to impeach him.’”
The grounds for impeachment, the first-term Republican said, would be “for being assigned to take on Ukrainian corruption yet turning a blind eye to Burisma because his son was on the board making over a million dollars a year.”
President Barack Obama sent Biden to Ukraine on his behalf to fight corruption, including leading the push from the U.S. and western European powers to remove prosecutor general Viktor Shokin from office.
From Axios:
The big picture: Biden, who was tasked by President Obama with fighting corruption in Ukraine, demanded the firing of former prosecutor general Viktor Shokin in 2016. At the time, Biden’s son Hunter was serving on the board of Ukrainian gas company Burisma, which was owned by an oligarch who had been investigated for corruption.
The removal of Shokin was a policy supported by the International Monetary Fund, the European Union and many bipartisan members of Congress. However, Republicans have alleged that Biden had Shokin fired because he was investigating Burisma.
There’s no evidence to support this claim, and no members of Congress expressed concern about Shokin’s ouster until last year, when the allegations were first promoted by Trump and his lawyer Rudy Giuliani.
All the above may be true, or it could be a totally corrupt deal? But that doesn’t matter really.
It doesn’t have to be illegal to be damning. Look, both sides do it, the influence for money game, the no show jobs, speaker fees, etc. etc.
