Democrats To Spend Big Bucks To Attack Trump On One Issue While The World Is Suffering From Coronavirus

A super-PAC aligned with Democrats plans to spend $5 million on attack ads aimed at politicizing President Donald Trump’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak, according to a report from the Washington Post.
The ads are set to begin running even as the country struggles to battle against the coronavirus.
“A Democratic super PAC said Tuesday it would spend $5 million on digital advertising flaying President Trump for his response to the novel coronavirus, one of several groups that planned to devote resources to this type of messaging,” the Post reported.
The paper noted further that a super-PAC official “said it was critical for outside groups like hers to exact a political price on Trump as his possible Democratic opponents, former vice president Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), aim to project leadership by staying above the fray.”
The president’s supporters say that Biden and Sanders have not remained ‘above the fray’ and have regularly attacked the Trump administration’s responses to the viral outbreak on the campaign trail and during their most recent debate.
The Post further noted that the $5 million ad buy is one of several initiatives planned by Democrat-aligned groups to take political advantage of the outbreak and use it an opportunity to bash the administration.
However, former Democratic Party presidential candidate Andrew Yang took a different approach on Tuesday and offered his support to the administration as it considered a temporary, emergency version of his signature campaign idea: $1,000 per month to each American household, Breitbart News reported.
Michael Bloomberg, pledged $40 million Tuesday to the fight against coronavirus — a small fraction of the fortune he spent on his failed campaign, which cost over half a billion dollars.
