Mitt Romney Strikes Again, May Try To Halt GOP Investigation Into The Biden’s

Mitt Romney, the infamously anti-Trump Republican who voted in favor of President Trump’s impeachment in the Senate, has issued a statement to a reporter indicating that he will not vote to support a new subpoena for a consultant linked to Hunter Biden and Burisma.
Republican Senator Ron Johnson has been investigating matters regarding Hunter Biden for months inside of the Department of Senate Homeland Security Committee, and he recently announced plans for his first subpoena in the probe. A vote for the subpoena is scheduled for Wednesday, but Republican Senator Mitt Romney indicated that he will not be voting in favor of supporting the advancement.
On the committee’s probe into the Biden’s, Mitt Romney told reporters:
“There’s no question but the appearance of looking at Burisma appears political. And I think people are tired of these kinds of political investigations.”
“I would hope that there’s something of significance that needs to be evaluated that would be done perhaps the FBI or some other agency, although it’s not as political as perhaps a committee of our body,” he added.
“We also have a lot of work to do on matters that are not related to Burisma. We probably ought to focus on those things.”

The subpoena in question came after Republican Senators requested documents that were filed by financial institutions regarding Hunter Biden, his associates, their businesses and clients from the Treasury Department earlier this month. It was directed at Andrii Telezhenko, who worked as a consultant for Blue Star Strategies, a company that Hunter Biden had previously connected with Burisma in order to squash allegations of corruption.
Senators Ron Johnson and Chuck Grassley hope to find incriminating evidence on Hunter Biden and his shady connections to the Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings, the same company that he was being paid upwards of $80,000 a month to work for while his father was working on matters in Ukraine as Vice President in the Obama administration.
